Speaking IELTS - Part 2 & 3 (Model notes)

Part 2


Describe one of your friends

You should say:

How you met
Describe the first time you met

How long you have known each other
Number of years

How you spend time together
What you do together e.g. go out, play sports, cinema, clubbing

And explain why you like this person
Have the same interests and hobbies, enjoy spending time with him/her, supportive, sense of humor, positive person, energetic, kind, intelligent, helpful, social person etc.


Part 3

QUALITIES OF FRIENDS

What are the most important qualities for friends to have?
Able to keep secrets, loyal, fun trustworthy, supportive, a good listener, good company, interesting etc.

Which are more important to people, their family or their friends?
- Can choose your friends but not family but blood is thicker than water
- Family will always be there for you
- Children rely on their family but friends become more important as you become older
- Each serves different function

OTHER RELATIONSHIPS

Have relationships with neighbours were you live changed in recent years?
We no longer know our neighbours in big cities. Everybody is busy, selfish, minds their own business. People move a lot , so neighbours always changing.
