Paragraphs make it easier to read text.

They allow a reader to have a break.

They show a change of ideas or a new stage in a story.

To make a paragraph we can start on a new line and indent a sentence.

(indented sentence)→xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Or leave a blank line without indenting.
